The GPC held their Annual Armistice Day Competitons after the two minutes silence on Sunday 14th November 2021.
This was the 10th Anniversary of the Competition started by Lord Eric de Saumarez in 2011. The Armistice Trophy match was shot with any service issue .455 calibre revolver from the Great War era. The competitions consists of 33 shots, 11 shot right handed, 11 left handed and 11 with both hand, the top scoring 30 shots are scored. The trophy is a large scale replica of a .455 calibre cartridge. This year the Competition was won by Tara Leighton-Dyson with a score of 258 closely followed by Eric de Saumarez with 250 and Will van Zanten with 244.
The Badge batch which is shot with any service issue pistol with fixed sights was won by Jack Hanca with a score of 239, followed by Tara Leighton-Dyson with 237 and Andy Torode with 230.
Entry fees and donations from club members raised a total of £742 for the Royal British Legion. A big thanks to all members who took part in the competitions and those who made donations the RBL. And to those who donated additional prizes to accompany the trophies. Your efforts were greatly appreciated and this year we have raised £200 more than last year, so well done!
